Jude Troy - Managing Director
Hopscotch Entertainment is in its seventh year of operation, boasting a library of over 300 titlesand during that time has firmly established itself as one of Australia's most prolific DVD distributors. At the helm is Managing Director Jude Troy, who joined Hopscotch following a four year stint as General Manager of the DVD division of Shock. Jude founded Shock's DVD division in 2001, bringing to the table hugely successful franchises such as the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and ABC/BBC hit Spooks.
Since Hopscotch Entertainment's inception, Jude has grown the business dramatically using her acquisitions acumen to broaden and strengthen the slate beyond theatrical titles to include top-rating TV on DVD, cutting edge documentary and classic and cult film re-issues. The TV slate includes international phenomonens like the UK smash hit series The Inbetweeners BBC drama hits such as the BAFTA Award winning Life on Mars, Hustle, the Golden Globe nominated Jekyll, Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper, popular series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings and Camelot starring Eva Green and Joseph Fiennes. The library boasts a range of ground-breaking UK comedies such as Peep Show, The Catherine Tate Show, IT Crowd and Green Wing, Miranda as well as a host of top-rating local productions including Rush Series 1-4. Hopscotch Entertainment will be releasing eight-part series The Slap, based on Christos Tsiolkas' international best-seller in December 2011.
Jude helped create and develop the top-selling Spicks n' Specks and Talkin' Bout Your Generation Interactive DVDs and is currently working with local talent and Hopscotch Productions to develop further lifestyle content for TV and DVD both here and internationally. Jude also plays an integral role in the Hopscotch theatrical acquisitions team.
Jude has also previously enjoyed a successful career in marketing and promotions with EMI and Polygram and was a former news journalist and features writer both in Melbourne and London.
