Turn it Loose
Jaw-dropping stunts, nail-biting action and surprising emotion, Turn it Loose is an inspired look at the dynamic world of breakdancing.
Each year, sixteen of the world's best B-Boys are selected to battle one-on-one for the title of world champion. The competition is called ‘BC One' and Turn it Loose documents it all, going beyond the moves to reveal the characters who make this sport their lives.
Turn it Loose will force you to leave behind any preconception of what a B-Boy is. In revealing the backgrounds of six of these supremely talented dancers, we find incredible dedication, pride and resolve as they strive to make it to the top of their game.
In the ghettos of Senegal we are introduced to the rookie of the group Ben-J. Selected for the first time to enter the tournament, Ben-J struggles to deal with the weight of the expectation of every African B-Boy.
French-Algerian Lilou on the other hand is a seasoned performer who has travelled the world off the back of his skills. A former world champion, he is in it to restore his reputation after going out in the first round last year.
From Japan comes the BC One's youngest competitor Taisuke. Having left home at sixteen to pursue his breakdancing dreams in Tokyo, now he is ready to take on the world.
Together with reigning champion Hong 10, American superstars Roxrite and Ronnie, and ten other superlative dancers, they will battle it out to decide who takes home the title.
With stunning camera work, slick editing, a thumping soundtrack and unbelievable moves, Turn it Loose is an absorbing look into an extraordinary subculture.
