Out Now
2 Days In New York
Marion, the neurotic star of 2 Days in Paris, has broken up with Jack (Adam Goldberg) and now lives with a new lover and child, in the Big Apple. Julie Delpy strikes back with a sequel to her much-loved 2007 worldwide success that redefined the filmic words ‘romantic' and ‘comedy'.
2 Days In Paris was Delpy's directorial debut and heralded a filmmaker with a distinctive voice that owed something to the quirks of Woody Allen. She returns with 2 Days In New York, once again as writer and director as well as playing the lead. Picking up a few years down the line in NYC, Marion's new beau is Mingus, a radio host and journalist played by Chris Rock. Their life is upended by a two-day visit from Marion's French family: her jolly father, her oversexed sister and her sister's eccentric boyfriend. The French trio hilariously have no boundaries or filters... and no person is left unscathed. The different cultural backgrounds make for an explosive mix, and a deliciously witty romp of a film.
