Hopscotch to distribute new Joel Edgerton film

01 Sep 2010

There's been some talk about this on a few websites so far (and reports have been a bit incorrect), so we thought we'd set the record straight!
Australian production company Aquarius Films is producing the feature film with the working title of Say Nothing, to star Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) and Felicity Price. The psychological drama/ mystery is written by Kieran Darcy-Smith and Price, will be directed by Darcy-Smith and produced by Angie Fielder for Aquarius Films, in association with the internationally acclaimed director's collective Blue Tongue Films.

What's it about?
Four friends lose themselves in the fun of a carefree South East Asian holiday. Only three come back. Married couple Dave (Edgerton) and Alice (Price) return home to their young family desperate for answers about Jeremy's mysterious disappearance. When Alice's sister, Steph, returns not long after, a nasty secret is revealed about the night her boyfriend went missing. But it is only the first of many. Who amongst them knows what happened on that fateful night when they were dancing under a full moon in Cambodia?

Filming will commence in December 2010, in Sydney and Cambodia. Danish sales agent LevelK will manage world sales, and Hopscotch Films is very proud to be releasing the film in Australia and New Zealand, most probably in late 2011.
