Witness an extraordinary individual journey in this touching, revealing look at a Nepalese monk's search for his reincarnated mentor. This beautifully-filmed documentary provides rare insight into the ways in which deceased Buddhist masters are located and identified.

2001 marked the passing of one of the greatest Tibetan mediators of our time - Master Lama Konchog. His shy and devoted disciple of 21 years, Tenzin Zopa, was unexpectedly appointed by the Dalai Lama to search for the late master's reincarnation. Assisted by abstract clues from astrology and dream-interpretation; Tenzin travelled by helicopter, mule and foot to look for the "unmistaken child". He believed his mentor could be anywhere in the world in the body of a young boy. The ensuing quest transformed Tenzin from a modest servant into a spiritual leader and back again.

Visually stunning and emotionally gripping, Unmistaken Child is the first real-time documentation of such a search, presented to us through the eyes of a sincere and passionate Buddhist disciple. It is an awe-inspiring, real-life examination of the same rituals and traditions touched on by Martin Scorsese's Kundun.

This is both a revealing exposé of a unique process and a remarkable story of personal sacrifice and dedication. Already a festival hit, Israeli filmmaker Nati Baratz has crafted a candid portrait that is at once sweeping and intimate.
